French Onion Soup

and grilled cheese. Need I say more....? Guess so (lol) the grilled cheese was the best part of this Sat. night meal:)

The Taste of Olive Garden

Sat. night meal a couple weeks ago (still catching up:) was michelles turn, so she chose no big surprise Italian food! ;) Its kinda like me with Mexican! lol Anyway we did the salad and made the dressing all good:) Made some breadsticks didn't turn out:( The pasta we did was...how should I put it...uh...not a hit! lol But atleast the salad was delish! Oh I almost forgot about the soup! It was zuppa dascona not sure if that is spelled right very tasty!

We also made Tirimisu (which Michelle was so excited about) totally without a doubt the most disgusting thing I have ever put in my mouth!! We actually threw out the whole pan! Funny story tho- we had Carlin and Lily over for the dessert and we dish it all up and serve it to them and they head into the living room with it and Carlin takes a bite and then Lily takes one and just as quickly she is spitting out saying "Is there alcohol in this?" We were like oh crap yeah forgot all about that small detail "Its disgusting!" she says We're like "No! Is it really?" we taste it and are instantly trying to get it out aw it s awful!!! We were laughing cuz if Lily hadn't been right there to taste it with him, Carlin would prob have ate it out of politeness!! lol He said he didn't think that he would have but lily told us later that he prob would have...so I wonder if he will be a little leary of eating our food now? ;)

Mexican Burgers...

These were some SPICY burgers!! But they were delcious! Alongside them we did Sweet Potato Fries with an Avocado Dip, which was pretty spicy but good, the right amount of spice:) For the drink we did a Black and White Malted Milkshake sooo yummy! Sweet indulgence;) By the way Sat. nights are diet night off! LOL

Gourmet Tacos...

This is from the new Food Network magazine and it is a must try!! So good...they start with corn tortillas then shredded pork, then you can pile on any of the following: purple cabbage, jicama, mango chuncks, avocado slices, radish, red onion, cilantro, and lime wedges. Oh I almost forgot the mexican cheese Quesso fresco, I think thats what its called, Michelle you can feel free to correct me IF im wrong!LOL jk It would'nt be the first time:) Anyway we also made the corn tomilto, which is made from frozen corn and cornmeal (some other stuff I cant remember). This tomilto makes the tacos extra delicious! We also made the salsa recipe from Kristi, which I make at least once a week! So good and so easy:)

This dessert was pretty good prob would have been better had it baked all the way through:) It had a gram cracker crust then cake/brownie then hot fudge,nuts and ice cream. Yummy:)

Mac-n-Cheese Night

This is the 5 cheese Mac from the Ultimate Recipe Showdown...it was pretty good. Alot of really strong cheeses tho:) We also made a sauce to go over store bought meatballs. The sauce was a recipe from someone at Jimmy's work, we cant remember what it was but it was good:) For dessert we made these delicous Apple Dumplings! Soooo good!

Country Fried Steak

This is one of Bruce's favorite foods so I thought we would give it a try on our saturday night. It's probly not something either of us will make again- not this recipe anyway:) We also had homemade bisquits and gravy. The pumpkin pancake was really good although it seemed more like cake. So that one will make the cookbook that michelle and I are making:)

Well well Wellington!

Anyone watch Hell's Kitchen? :) We decided to see what makes the show's all time favorite, the beef wellington, a dish worth all the screaming Chef Ramsey did! Yeah it wasn't...at least not ours:) It might have tasted better if we had used the puff pastry the recipe called for:) (Michelle could'nt find it at the store). We may try a different recipe sometime though. We also made a Coucous with zucchini and gorgonzala cheese, which I thought was good. For dessert we made Reese Peanut Butter bars, they look better in the pictures than they actually were.

Italian Night!!

So it was my night to plan the meal so i decided to try Cannelloni,which is as I found out is just Manicotti! Different filling though, sausage and hamb mix, pretty good I thought:) We also did a quick bread and a salad to go with it. The salad was kinda wierd Pan Roasted Garlic Romaine Salad- Rachel Ray. We did the same dessert that I made two weeks ago but we decided to modify it. Instead of pomegranite molasses we put pumpkin filling, regular molasses, and pumpkin pie spice. Still did the Salted Caramel. Everybody except Jimmy liked it better than the Pomeganite. Actually not really sure if he liked the other stuff either!:) LOL We actually got everything ready and done by 7:30!! So we decided to go to Boik and Lisa's soccer game which was at 8:20 so we thought we had plenty of time but of course we ended up late to the game! Story of my life I guess, I'm always running behind:) Here are the picture's...

Last Saturday's Meal

Whoa!!! Its already Friday and I'm finally getting the pictures up! It was Jimmy and Michelles turn to come up with something new to make. They chose Couscous stuffed Chicken, the stuffing also had kalamata olives, feta cheese, and sundried tomato, with an Orzo Salad. We didn't take pictures of the Orzo salad though because nobody liked it:) For dessert we made Pumpkin Bread, Yum-o :) right Michelle! So here's the pictures...try not to drool too much:)

Saturday Night Tradition

Every saturday night we get together with Michelle and Jimmy to try out new and interesting recipes. There has been some total disasters and some that we will make again and again! We all pretty much know that if the fire alarm goes off then its almost time to eat!! Every now and then we invite different people to come and (hopefully) enjoy the food with us. It always surprises them how long they have to wait for it though:) Its usually around 8 or 9 by the time we get it ready! I think its been mayby twice that we have eaten around 6:30 or 7. We've made some pretty yummy stuff if I do say so myself like pumpkin cheesecake, Italian chicken rolls, Flank steak, deep fried pumpkin cake, and last Saturday night's semi-freddo cream with salted caramel. So good!! Anyway here are pictures from this Saturday...
