Canvas Boards

Lily bought the basics to do these canvas boards and then Grandma pulled out a bunch of great stuff she wasn't using anymore. Buttons, sequins, crystal gems, upholstery brads, and even an old clip-on earring! It was great to sit down and work on them together, to encourage my mom and grandma to just let their creative side take over and not worry how it turns out;) I think they both really enjoyed the time spent together and the end result! I know Lily and I did:)

Some of the awesome stuff we had to work with.
It's really cool cuz not only do we have the memories made during the project,
but we also have the boards themselves,
which have precious bits of my grandma's life!

My mom painting her board, getting it ready to add paper and accessories to it.

Lily going through grandma's sewing stuff.

Kamdyn looking on as grandma works on her board.
It was so neat to see them together, getting to know each other!

Lily helping Grandma find her creativity;)

Awww! Kamdyn giving great grandma a kiss!
So sweet, he doesn't just give them to anybody!!

We made quite a mess!

Here are the almost finished boards, from left clockwise: Mom's, Mine, Lily's and Grandma's.
Aren't they fabulous!?!

Closer look.

Afterwards I realized that I didn't get a picture of all of them finished,
so mine is what we have for a final result picture:)
It's so nice to have this picture of us to look at every day. Mine is sitting here on the desk, waiting for me to find a place to hang it. I want to hang it somewhere visible, where i can look at it and remember this day.
I love you and miss you everyday!

Farmer's Market

On Saturday morning Michelle Lily and I headed over to the Farmers market. It was very interesting, they had a bunch of different kinds of vegetables, flowers, fruits and some very good coffee! Of course they have good stuff being right in the heart of farm country;) We had alot of fun checking out the different booths and tasting at some.

Yummy, watermelon!

Check out the funky purple cauliflower!
Pretty hey:)

This coffee was all central American.
Dark and delicious!

Grandma, Kamdyn, and I
One thing we figured out is that we have the same look if we aren't smiling.

Scroll to bottom of post...
Pix are in order from bottom to top!
Ya know for a little variety...
Uh yeah that's it variety;)
My Grandma didn't do too bad either.
She is pretty good at bluffing too! Probably learned from the best;)
I love this pic of her! She's raking in her winnings! lol
He just kept raking it in!

Unlike some one who fell for everyone of Grandpa's bluffs!!
Man he is a good bluffer!
I think she is trying out the bluffing thing here;)
So this is one of my hands. I have no idea how to play this game! I always say I don't have enough memory to remember from 1 time to the next! lol I did pretty good tho.

Here we are playing some poker. Hmmmm...ya think she's got a good hand??

The Barn...

For as far back as I can remember this barn has never changed! It's nice to go back home to my grandparents and find everything has pretty much stayed the same:) I absolutely LOVE going back...the sounds, the smells, and the memories-especially the memories! Always good ones thats for sure, some things never change- like the way my grandma talks to my grandpa, so gruff but you can see the love and concern she has for him:) or the way whenever my grandma is out of earshot he will tell us "she's a real good woman" with a funny little grin and a wink! Warms my heart everytime I think about them...Anyway my grandpa will be 90{!!!!} this year
and he is still buying and selling horses! He loves it and will probly have some horse deals going for the rest of his life:) I absolutely love these 2 and miss them dearly!

Cobwebs that have been there since the beginning! lol

A look into the barn from the front.

There's my grandpa:)
Kamdyn loved the horses!

They have 7 or 8 barn cats, which Kam also loved:)

With the donkey, Jack {no its not the same Jack that they had when we were kids;)}
He uses Jack to train the colts to get used to wearing halters
and something to do with turning them?? {not sure about the last part}
I have tons of pictures from this whirlwind trip to SD that I will share with you in the coming days:) So something to look forward to;) lol
Enjoy!
